Lessons on life via night photography

Lately I've been contemplating buy a new DSLR camera, I'm getting into my photography more and more these days, and I seemed to have it in my head that getting a new camera and some more expensive gear would be a good idea. You know, take shit to the next level. At the moment I have an entry level Canon EOS 1100D, a couple of standard lenses, plus a 50mm f/1.4. A pretty basic and inexpensive set up.

The Blue Lake

Prior to about last November, I'd barely ever taken a decent drive around Rotorua and had a look at what everyone was always talking about, or why it was such a popular tourist spot. These days it's one of my fave places to just go for a drive. These pics are all from the Blue Lake. On clear & sunny days it's insanely blue, and on cloudy days like today it's not as blue, but the water is still crystal clear. And in winter it's even better since there's barely any tourists around!

I'm fairly convinced that whenever those hobbit dudes aren't doing whatever they do in Hobbiton (?), that they're out painting the shit out of the grass in this country. These photos were taken around the same area as actual Hobbiton, so you know, it's probably quite likely...

Reasons To Do The Nevis Bungy

So the AJ Hackett Nevis Bungy is in Queenstown, and it's the highest one in NZ, at 134m... I'm not sure how it ranks on the World scale, but jumping 134m off a cable car suspended in the middle of a canyon sounds pretty decent to me? And old mate AJ Hackett is the bungy legend himself, so I couldn't think of a better place to kick off my (new-found) love for adrenaline.
